The Voucher Program
How it works
Step #1
Visit Tampa Bay eBikes to
choose your eBike!
Once you have identified the eBike you would like, we will provide you with a signed purchase quote.
You will be required to upload the signed purchase quote as well as a signed copy of the “Applicant Conditions Form” as part of your application.
Make sure you sign and upload ALL pages of the Conditions form into your application, otherwise your application will be denied.

Apply for your eBike voucher

What you need:
1.) Signed Copy of the Purchase Quote.
2.) Signed copy of the Applicant Conditions Form.
The application window will open at 8am on Friday February 13th and close at 5pm on Friday February 27th.

eBike Eligibility
The following are the only types of eBikes covered under the City of Tampa eBike Voucher Program:
- Class I eBikes
- eBikes that use a battery and electric motor to provide assistance at up to 20 MPH when the rider is pedaling (pedal assist).
- Class II eBikes
- eBikes with an electric motor that provides assistance at up to 20 MPH when the rider is pedaling, just like a Class I eBike or, a throttle, which can go up to 20 MPH without the rider pedaling.
- Class I & Class II eCargo Bikes
- eBikes with an electric motor provides assistance at up to 20 MPH when the rider is pedaling, or with a throttle, which can go up to 20 MPH without the rider pedaling. These types of eBikes are typically larger in size and have stronger motors and frames for capacity to transport things like other passengers or groceries.
- Adaptive eBikes
- eBikes that offer adaptive assistance to individuals with certain needs. Examples include three-wheeled ebikes, pedal modification, bucket seats, etc.
Vouchers awarded as part of this program WILL NOT cover the purchase of any Class III eBike, electric mountain bike, or eBike conversion kit.

For the 2026 eBike Voucher Program, a total of 248 vouchers will be awarded across three voucher types.
Voucher recipients are chosen through a lottery based on the voucher type applied for.

Redeeming Your eBike Voucher:
Redeeming Your eBike Voucher
- Check your email for the voucher after being selected through the lottery process.
- Remember that you have 60 days from the voucher’s issue date to redeem it. The expiration date is mentioned on the voucher.
- Visit Tampa Bay eBikes with the approved voucher from your email.
- Tampa Bay eBikes will verify your voucher using the email from the City program representative.
- Present your ID for scanning at Tampa Bay eBikes.
- Use the voucher to purchase the specified eBike. The full value of the voucher will be applied.
- Keep in mind that any unused voucher value will be forfeited.

Do Class 3 eBikes qualify?
No — vouchers do not cover Class III eBikes.
Do electric mountain bikes (eMTB) or conversion kits qualify?
No — the program does not cover electric mountain bikes or eBike conversion kits.
How do I get a signed purchase quote?
Visit Tampa Bay eBikes for a test ride and sizing. Once you choose a voucher‑eligible eBike, we’ll provide a signed purchase quote for your application.
What if I’m not sure which voucher I qualify for?
No problem — request an appointment and we’ll walk you through the options and what you’ll need to apply.
Do I have to use the voucher at the exact shop I select on my application?
Yes — the City issues the voucher for the bike shop you indicate on your application.
Can I use the voucher value toward accessories?
